I am still in the process of "reverse cultural shock" this week. I thought I was able to settle down immediately and visit the first church in this area this Wednesday evening. However, I was tired because lack of sleep (new place), allergies (dusty and chemical from remodeling of many units in this new building), adjustment of new city, many new appliance in this new apartment, and so on. In fact, I was expecting the rice be done before 6pm on Wednesday and took the 6:30 pm bus to the church's prayer meeting. However, the rice was never done as it was not a rice cooker. Around 5:30pm, I realized my internet connection was due when I was listening to a sermon of the church. I was not able to have internet connection until almost 24 hrs later.
In a new city and a new apartment, I found myself need time to adjust life. A simple daily routine can be a problem to solve and it is frustrating. My second older brother and me spent almost 7 hours to assemble three pieces of furniture. After that, I want to clean the floor and open a new mop. Then, I found myself do not know how to use the it. I feel I want to cry at this moment. How long will it take until I can function as a normal person?
Well, the good news is the 9 days Chinese New Year is just began and I have time to learn and adjust. In fact, the new semester will start on Feb. 21st. Just pray for patience that I will be thankful and joyful everyday. I will take bus to the church tomorrow morning. Pray for peace about the adventure.
A few days before, I ran into a Muslim visiting Doctor in a nearby hospital. She lives in this building on 16th floor. Pray I will connect with her. She just arrived about a month ago and will stay for a year!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 107: 1
